TwitterRobyn:Twitter.com is a micro-blogging site where people use 140 characters to post various messages. Twitter can be very confusing when you start out and you need to choose the right people to follow as there are a lot of people who post absolute rubbish. What I like about Twitter is that many of the people I follow are educationalists and they often post interesting websites for teachers and schools as well as good research. I get many of my favourite sites from Twitter. You do need to remember that your 'tweets' may be read by a lot of people - some people choose to keep their tweeting for either private use or for work. I just make sure I am circumspect! This video explains how to set up a Twitter account: How to use Twitter Let me know if you want some help.

StumbleUpon
WARNING - this site can become very addictive! When you register with StumbleUpon you are asked to tick boxes according to things you are interested in such as Education, Humour, Crafts etc. You then download a toolbar that sits at the top of your page. Every time you click on 'Stumble' you will be taken to a random website on one of the topics you have chosen. You can list sites on your favourites, or if it's not interesting, click on 'Stumble' again to be taken to a new site. This can lead to late nights if your aren't careful!
